Welcome!

Thanks for stopping by. I’m Scott, and I’m building this free resource because I love questing.

My travel quests have enriched my life so much, and I want to help everyone else enjoy them, too.

What is “Questing” exactly?

Questing is working towards a travel goal of visiting a particular set of places, usually one that involves “visiting all the ________________.” That blank line can be just about anything—whether that’s going to all the National Parks, or the MLB ballparks, or getting to 100 Countries, or even just grabbing a pint at each craft brewery in your city. Or something else entirely. It’s all up to you and what you want to experience a bit more of. Quests are:

  • a great way to inspire more travel and adventure in your life
  • designed to encourage you to venture to places you wouldn’t have otherwise experienced
  • helpful in structuring and focusing your trip planning

They’re a lot more powerful than a random travel goal or a bucket list.

What is #GoQuesting then?

#GoQuesting is a free resource for helping people adopt and complete their own quests.

A directory of quests

Our main feature, so far, is a directory of quest ideas. I have more than 1500 posted, with a wide span of geography and topic, each with varying degrees of information.

The next step will be to build out mini guides for each of the quests, mostly by order of popularity. The goal here is to give everyone a solid start on their new quest.

If you run across a quest idea page that seems a bit empty, please help me build it out! I see this endeavor as a community effort aimed at paying it forward to the next quester.

Quest Hashtags: a universal reference system

One thing you’ll notice about each quest listed here is a Quest Hashtag. It takes the form of #GoQuesting0000, with the numbers corresponding to a specific quest. You can always find it displayed in the top summary section of each quest page.

I created this system as a standardized way to reference each quest, wherever that might be.

By using the quest hashtag when posting about your quest on social media or a blog, you can ensure that others working on the same quest can find your posts simply by searching for the hashtag.

This creates a decentralized way for questers to connect with each other. So we can build community together across our favorite websites, and without needing to pay app subscription fees or club membership dues.

We’re still building it all

There are a number of things that are still half-built, clunky, or missing important information. I’m regularly working to build or improve the site, but it will take some time.

Here’s the roadmap for what I have planned.

If you’d like to help with the effort, please get in contact! Let’s make this an incredible community resource for our fellow questers.

Find your quest

If you’re already pursuing a quest, you can quickly search for it using the button in the top right corner. If you have trouble finding it there, you can browse for it By Theme or By Location.
